NAJWL in the News!
Our 7th Annual Roasting on the River Oyster Roast was held on March 24, 2018 at Boeckh Park in Hammonds Ferry. We sold 425 tickets for the event. Philip Pye, owner of Pot Smoker BBQ in Aiken, and Lucky Duck Shrimp Company prepared the oysters and BBQ for the night. The local Augusta, GA band, Whiskey Run, provided musical entertainment. We had more than 70 silent auction baskets up for grabs. Additionally, we raffled a Rec Tec Bullseye ($399 value) for $10 a ticket. We could not have asked for better weather! We are forever grateful for patrons, our sponsors and cash donors. Without their support, we would not have the means to provide books to children through our Reading Readiness Program or scholarships to high school seniors at North Augusta High School & Fox Creek High School.
The 2017 Roasting on the River was a huge hit in the community! We had a sold out crowd, phenomenal auction items, tasty oysters and BBQ catered by Buckwheat's Catering and BBQ, and wonderful entertainment by Bethany Davis and the Southside boys. We could not have asked for a better night. Thank you to our community supporters and sponsors for a wonderful night and the best oyster roast yet!
On Friday December 16, 2016, with assistance from NA Forward, we hosted Tinsel Town Throwdown at the Jackson Square Food Truck stop!
